SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE
International Student Merit-based Scholarships
are given each fall and spring to new international first-year and new international transfer students who attend full-time. These awards are based on academic achievement. Admitted international undergraduate students are awarded First year students with a GPA of 3.8 or higher may receive up to $17,000 annually. Transfer students with a 3.7 GPA or higher may receive up to $15,000 annually..
This scholarship is based on grade point average and one of the following: TOEFL, IELTS, SAT or ACT score.
*Merit-based scholarships cannot be combined with other scholarships. **State-sponsored scholars are ineligible for merit-based scholarships.

FIRST-YEAR UNDERGRADUATE
Apply online directly through our website.
- Request that your high school send us your official high school transcripts.
- Optional: Send us your ACT/SAT score(s)–ACT Code: 1122; SAT Code: 1665. For admission for the fall 2021 semester, test scores are not required. Students with a test score may submit them to our university. If the score(s) help your application, they will be considered. If they do not help your application, they will not be reviewed during the admission decision process.
- Submit your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Form. To obtain a form, go to fafsa.ed.gov to file electronically. The FAFSA code for Rockford University is 001748.
TRANSFER UNDERGRADUATE
- Apply Today! There are two options to choose from, but you should only submit one application for admission. Your application is confidential and will only be accessed by Admission Office personnel and used solely in the application process. There are no application fees.
- Request that all colleges and universities you have attended send us your official transcripts.
- If you have less than 12 hours of college or university credit, please also send us your official high school transcripts.

MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING (MAT):
Have you dreamed of becoming a teacher? Whether you have a background in education or have earned a degree in another discipline and want to become a teacher, Rockford University’s MAT program provides you with teaching skills and prepares you to seek a teaching license in one of several endorsement areas.
Since 1952, Rockford University’s Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree has established a proud tradition as a teacher of teachers. Our graduates distinguish themselves as educational leaders throughout the nation.
Who is it for?
Career changes or professionals with bachelor’s degrees in fields other than education who want to become teachers and are pursuing a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a master’s degree.
For admission to the MAT program, students must submit the following to be evaluated:

- Cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5
- Submit official transcripts in a sealed envelope or digitally secure email
Submission of the above does not guarantee admission. It provides you with the opportunity to be evaluated for admission. Students not currently enrolled in a Graduate degree program at Rockford University can complete no more than 12 credits of Rockford University coursework at the Graduate level that may be counted toward a Rockford University graduate degree program.
