By every measure, the University of Adelaide—a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight research-intensive universities—stands tall among the world’s leading institutions of learning and innovation.
The clearest indication of this is our consistently high rating by the most respected international assessment bodies: QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education and Shanghai Jiao Tong’s Academic Rankings of World Universities (ARWU). All consider us one of the top 1% of universities worldwide, and the top university in our state.
We’re equally proud of the fact that the vast majority of our research is rated ‘above or well above world standard’ by the Australian Research Council’s Excellence in Research Australia program.
We count among our distinguished alumni: five Nobel Laureates; over 100 Rhodes Scholars, including Australia’s first Indigenous recipient; and Australia’s first female prime minister and Supreme Court judge. Many of our staff and teachers are internationally recognised leaders in their fields. And we attract a diverse student body of over 27,000 from more than 90 countries.

Adelaide Summer Research Scholarships description
Students who have completed at least two years (48 units) of their program, at a standard acceptable level for admission to an Honours program, will be considered in the first instance. Students must contact their Faculty/School to ensure that an appropriate research project is available.
In exceptional circumstances students who have completed less than two years of study may be considered.
Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, New Zealand Citizens, holders of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa and international students who hold current appropriate visas permitting study in Australia beyond February 2023 are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
Students who are in receipt of, or expect to receive any other summer or vacation scholarships over the 2022-23 summer vacation (e.g. National Heart Foundation Summer Scholarship, Cancer Council Vacation scholarships) are not eligible for the Adelaide Summer Research Scholarship unless the other scholarship is for a separate research project.
Each Scholarship provides a living allowance of at least $200 per week for six weeks.
The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered; acceptance of the Scholarship offer cannot be deferred. If a student declines the Scholarship offer, the Scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.
